The spec on this retract says it's made of plastic. Mine has a cracked (not broken) black housing. Is there any way to repair this? Does regular plastic cement work?

Hello Doug, I'm afraid there is no effective way to make a permanent repair to the plastic case of a retract unit. The only way is to replace the complete unit. The plastic case is not available as a spare part.

I installed a new one with...read moreI've been having issues with my nose gear in a scratch built F-4 D skyray. Some bad landings broke the case and flanges . I installed a new one with a 5mm shaft as apposed to the 4.1 stock shaft. Works great now. Just wish freewing would make there plastic retract cases from a more flexible material. They are too brittle as they are. Have a whole box of busted one to prove it.
